Klara and I Metro'd to the Smithsonian to see the dinosaur exhibit at the Natural History Museum and the Memorial Day Parade on Constitution Avenue. (Klara is interested in dinosaurs at present; her favorite is the Diplo-big-neck-one). The museum had some skeletal models of interest and the parade was impressive. We packed a small picnic of ham sandwiches, Gatorade, cherries, and Safeway Mariacheese chips, which we ate under some trees nearby a Museum.
It was a special time together and lot of fun, despite being crowded with people throughout, full-tilt Darwinist in the museum (where we were told to put away the American flags we were given outside for the parade as they are forbidden by rule to be visible in the museums...) and hot and humid, with the sun was shining without cloud cover. Klara was energized and a trooper throughout; she got a kick out of both the museum and the parade, and as we walked away from the parade, she had a missle popsicle in hand; red, white, and blue. (The red lips are a result of that, not lipstick!)
