Little Mommy

In the last few weeks, Klara has become very particular about her dolls, plush animal toys and other little figures. We wanted you to see what she's doing with them. There is a product brand of girls toys called "Little Mommy", which gave me (Emily) the idea for this title. At first, the phrase seemed a little creepy, but I then realized it describes perfectly how little girls are. Klara loves airplanes, trucks, subways and Thomas the tank Engine. Her protective and maternal inclination is very robust as well.

Playing in the patio kiddie pool and water table was getting a little boring until I went and got some of her little plastic people and animal figures from another toy. Now we've made a water slide, and Klara loves letting her peeps slide down it. She arranges them all on top of the slide very carefully.

Here Klara has very carefully arranged her dolls and animals together, talking constantly, telling me that they're all ready to go to sleep and that they need blankets. She searches through the whole room (sometimes the house) to find every last little baby and bring him to the collection.

She also must have a baby doll go to sleep with her for both nap and nighttime. And the baby must have her own blanket. Her soft duck that plays Brahms lullaby has to have his own blanket too. There are three blankets and a pillow in her crib at bedtime. It's getting cozy in there.

There are dolls all over the floor of her room, but they are all carefully tucked under blankets. These two got a nice spot in a quiet corner. You'll find dolls like this all over the house, actually. They are sleeping under blankets that she made from a nearby towel, rag, sweater, any cloth that will do.

Does she really have strawberry blond hair? She's adorable. I'm glad she's a girlie girl & also a tomboy. That's a good balance. Marsh you look comfortable in the kiddy pool!
