On the first high temperature Saturday of the year so far (the humidity is usually a given), we headed over to Annapolis, MD. The bay-side town is about an hour from where we live. It is one of the most unique and enjoyable locations in the region.
Annapolis is historic, formal, easygoing and lively all at the same time. It is home to the U.S. Naval Academy [Hi Uncle Marshall, we were thinking of you!], the oldest continuously functioning statehouse (capitol) in country, many pleasant shops and restaurants, and lots of boats.
The best part was walking around the Naval Academy grounds (the "Yard") in the late afternoon. Everything about it was beautiful, stirring and altogether sensible -- outwardly and inwardly. And being near ocean was so much welcome. Seeing the sunshine dancing on blue salt water stretching into the far horizon, sea breezes and salt water fresh air. Ahhhhh...

I feel like I was there.
Thanks, CB. That's exactly why we write and post them, and hope to share together again in person one days soon.
And thanks for the comments. The other reason we do this. We read the comments to Klara.
